Tanzania is perfectly located at the edge of the African continent, lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, and has perfectly temperate weather to accommodate both safari or beach-style holidays.
Tanzania has so much to offer tourists and some of these highlights include a great number of incredible nature reserves and game parks like those on the renowned Serengeti plains, as well as tropical beaches at the coast and in the Zanzibar archipelago. A major attraction of Tanzania is Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, which is open to very fit visitors doing a five day hike to its peak and back down. Tourists looking for accommodation should rest assured as Tanzania offers a wealth of accommodation options including game lodges, tent and camp sites, beach cabanas or luxury hotels.

Tanzania has a great amount of land dedicated to nature conservation and reserves, and some of the natural highlights include everything from coral reefs to big game viewing and safari on the scrubland plains. Tourists should add some of these reserves to their itinerary and experience the magnificent sounds and sights that only Africa can offer.

But the towns and cities of Tanzania also have much to offer tourists and some of these include cultural, sight-seeing, entertainment and shopping highlights. There is plenty to see and do, including taking in some historical and cultural sights of Tanzania's most famous culture - the Masai. Visiting tribal villages outside of the cities and staying in village-style accommodation is a genuine African experience and highlight of any itinerary.

Some other highlights of Tanzania include the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Mafia Island and Mt. Meru. Tourists should always check with their local Tanzanian embassy for up-to-date information regarding visas, health and security, before embarking on their travels.
