Sharing borders with Zaire, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania, Zambia is a large country covering an area the size of Austria, Hungary, France and Switzerland combined. Lying on the Central African Plateau, the country has excellent national parks with abundant bird and animal life. South Luangwa is probably the best national park in Zambia. The ideal times to spot the wildlife is during the months of August to October, although the temperatures often reach higher than 32<\#176>C. The country is well known for its Zambezi River and the spectacular Victoria Falls, where tourists can sightsee or take up the challenge of canoeing, white-water rafting or bungee jumping. Viewing the Vic Falls from a microlight is probably the best way to see the natural phenomenon. The rates of exchange of the local currency, the Kwacha, vary constantly.
